I have been looking at the new Tine K cataloque for spring and not only are the pieces beautiful but the inspiration shots are well.....inspiring! Tine K is a Danish homewares company that sells wholesale and retail. In fact you can shop on line here. Really pretty furniture and accessories that have that clean lined Scandinavian look that I love! There is a gorgeous, simple white couch that would be great in my house and the garden furniture is so perfect...Check out her house here..

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Enjoy!

Artful Home

Some very traditional elements in this home which I can not say is a style that I love.... but what saves it for me is the unexpected mix of industrial and modern. The kitchen is great with a modern feel and a mirrored backsplash and the living room has a very interesting table that centers the room with more traditional furniture surrounding it. The artwork is what makes this home for me though. It works in well with the environment and yet stands out well on its own...and there really are some lovely pieces! I like the colour in the painting in the office. Artwork is sometimes tricky to work in with the decor but it is done very well here!

Enjoy!

Pretty Pastels

I am really crushing on all the pastel colours I see on Pinterest these days! So great in a white room for a bit of subtle contrast and mixing all of the different pastel colours together looks so great. I especially like the brighter yellow with the pale green and pink. I have a very pale blue bedroom with neutral tones and white and I really love the softness of the look but it is really the only room I have a bit of pastel in my house. It would be simple to add though in a table or a lamp and I think it would pick up the look of the room especially if you keep it to a modern look. Of course pastel and shabby chic go together and always look great but shown as it is below is very new and fresh!

Interiors: Vintage White

This home is full of vintage treasures and comfortable, shabby beauty...all the things we need in a super cozy home. The Pottery Barn chairs in the living room are perfect for relaxing in front of the fire. I love the mix of wood with the dining room table, chairs, bench as well as the beautiful bowl in the center....and of course the entry is a beauty! So well styled...

Dreamy Decor in the South of France

How could I not love this house? First of all it is situated in the town of Uzège in Saint-Quentin-la-Pottery. This just happens to be in the South of France and I love the south and I hope to spend most of my later years in any small village there. Secondly, this town is known for its many potters (thus the name) and I, if you are not aware, am a potter! ( I need to visit this village on my next trip!)

Of course there are other reasons to love this house mostly to do with the fantastic decor. The renovation of the home began with the new owners, a young couple with one small child at the time, hiring local workers to do the finishing. Unhappy with the quality of work they decided to dive in and do it themselves, becoming experts in plastering, decor and design. I think they did a great job and really like the use of stone throughout the home. I also find the lettering above the counter in the kitchen very sweet and gives it character and coziness. What do you like best in this home?

Rustic Retreat

This gorgeous space is not a home but a luxury bootcamp called The Ranch! Thanks to Est Magazine, we get a sneak peek inside these wonderful, calm and peaceful rooms....which I think you would need after being out all day doing four or five hours of group hikes, daily yoga sessions and core and ab work.

A bit if luxury with a rustic feeling, I think this is a place I could actually enjoy a week of detox!

Enjoy!

Inspiration In White: Zinc

The look of any zinc pot, frame, mirror...well anything really.. feels instantly French. Such a warm and beautiful metal it only looks better with age and patina. As I was researching zinc I realized how versatile this material can be and I especially like seeing it used on counter tops in the kitchen. Very stain resistant and easy to clean it can add so much to the look but it is also a rather soft material and can be prone to scratching so something to think about before installing. (Do any of you have zinc counters? I would love to know if you like them!)

My favourite use of zinc though is in pots and finials. Although zinc is generally fairly resistant to rusting, if left outdoors for long, it does begin to change in colour which I think just adds to the character and beauty of the piece. I often see zinc items for sale at Dreamy Whites and Atelier de Campagne so go over to their sites to take a look!

Here are a few photos I found of some lovely zinc pieces...

Contemporary Chic

This home, all done up in neutrals, is so chic and contemporary yet still very comfortable. Gorgeous textures and the mix of old and new pieces keep it interesting. Love the bathroom fixtures and the use of mirrors in the dining room. Pale walls blend with the floor and furniture to create a soft and warm space. Really lovely..

Enjoy!
