Cottage in Cornwall

This beautiful house in Cornwall was designed by photographer Paul Massey. A longtime fashion, news and interiors photographer Paul has recently created some amazing homes himself. What I love the best in this house though is the kitchen design...oh this is really so great! The subway tile all the way to the ceiling looks fantastic, the great finish on the cupboards and the wooden countertop all add up to an inspiring space. The kitchen is open to the living room area which is decorated in a really simple and beautiful way with comfortable, stylish furniture. The whole house feels easy and cozy. Nothing fussy or precious just a really comfortable welcoming space.

Seaside Cottage

The Swedish nautical theme starts at the front door in this pretty seaside cottage, with a beautiful pale teal hat stand. The house, though mostly white, continues with shades of blue throughout the home creating a wonderful continuity. Shells, palms and driftwood add just the right touch to finalize the theme. The little desk at the bottom of the stairs is so sweet and all of the painted cabinets are just perfect in the space. The floor is a high gloss industrial paint adding a bit of shine to the surface and reflecting the blues in the cabinets and paintings. Interiors: Shabby Eclectic

Gorgeous shabby, eclectic details in this London home....packed with homemade, crafty items such as the patchwork blanket on the chair and bed as well as worn vintage items and a pretty Mora clock. A lot of different styles packed into one space but it is lovely all the same. I love the little table in the hallway and the two corniche that add to the beautiful architecture of the entry. Worn white floors and pretty shutters and I would say there is nothing dull about this lovely home..

In the Details..

This is the home of Annabelle Kerslake who is the editor of the on-line magazine Fete. A wonderful open plan space offsetting dark furniture with white and cream. I love the Victorian letter holder that has a card from a photo shoot for the magazine as well as the silver stag head. A bird decal on the wall above vintage books is another of the cool fun elements in this home. The bedroom of Annabelle's daughter is especially cute with the white and pink striped tent over the bed and the ruffled bed cover makes this space perfect for any little girl.

So many beautiful details in this home and I think that is what makes any home so different and special...

Contemporary Chic

This home, all done up in neutrals, is so chic and contemporary yet still very comfortable. Gorgeous textures and the mix of old and new pieces keep it interesting. Love the bathroom fixtures and the use of mirrors in the dining room. Pale walls blend with the floor and furniture to create a soft and warm space. Really lovely..

Farmhouse Style

This farmhouse located in upstate New York was first featured on Decor 8 (love Holly's blog. Just bought her book) for Rue Magazine. The photographer Emily Gilbert (first of all she is amazing) really captured the spirit of the family that lives here...of course this type of home is really the kind that I love.. vintage collections (the zinc watering cans are great) and a mix of various styles that together create a wonderful and comfortable space.

Beach House- Lonny Magazine

I was looking at some back issues of Lonny Magazine and came across this fantastic beach house in Malibu. First of all, I love California! Yes I would go to LA anytime. I have always had great trips there for work and for fun. Second, to live in Malibu on the water would be rather nice don't you think....? This beach house of designer Tobi Tobin really appeals to me not only because it is all white but it is such a great mix of old and new items that make this home very personal. Fresh Florals

I really cannot wait until spring.....is it warm where you live? Here in Montreal it is still cold and snowing (I am soooo tired of wearing boots) and all I seem to be looking at is florals in clothing and decor to get me out of the winter blues. There are many pretty florals in decor right now from fabrics to wallpaper and carpets and of coursejust putting out fresh flowers makes any room feel brighter. Wonderful White Home

This home is floor to ceiling white and I just cannot get enough of it! Most of the rooms in this home are painted white and even the stairway is all white with no contrasting wood at all. There are small touches of colour found here and there in the furniture and on the walls in the upstairs bedrooms. Love the white/grey washed wood wall, floor and cupboards in the kitchen. Even this seems like a big contrast against the entry and living room. Simple and beautiful!
