Soft Industrial

A few photos of this gorgeous space that I call soft industrial. It has great industrial elements but it is softened with chandeliers, flowers and smooth lines. The dining room table is simply perfect because it is not too wide and the wood is full of texture. A really lovely space!

Enjoy!

Fashionable Home

This is the home of Swedish fashion designer Naja Munthe. Again, the simplicity of the furnishings and colour palette are perfect. Some things that really jump out at me as great ideas are the low hanging pendant lights over the coffee table as well as the glass panelled windows that create the entry into the dining room! Stunning...I also love the wall of books in the dining room. Very original home.

Enjoy!

Eclectic Apartment Decor

The apartment of this young couple is exactly as it should be...young, fun and eclectic! Solid base pieces like the tufted couch are perfect to work off of (and are a good investment)...just add the creativity! Love all the Morrocan touches and the red floor in the bedroom and kitchen is fantastic played off the white walls !

Interior: Modern Neutrals

This wonderful apartment is all done in great neutral shades, white, black, taupe and grey but it is anything but boring! Modern design with a less is more attitude, makes each piece of furniture selected feel absolutely right in its place in this home. I am so loving the dining room table with the outstanding pendant lamp and those amazing Eames style chairs! The other trend I really think is great is the pendant lamp beside the bed. It adds such an interesting look to the bedroom and gets away from having the lamps on the side-table. Beautiful..

Enjoy!

Copper and Light Loft

I simply love this apartment of Tanja Vibe, the owner of a graphic design studio called All the Way to Paris. The simplicity of the loft all in white and the gorgeous pops of colour throughout really speaks to me.....and what about all of the lamps. These copper pendants are amazing and add such great reflection to the room! Perfect...

Raw and Refined

You may have seen a few of these photos from Daniella Witte's apartment on Pinterest or Tumblr but I myself had never seen the whole home until today. Daniella is a photographer and her keen eye is clearly evident here in her own space. An industrial style that manages to feel very refined by combining rough surfaces with cozy furs, black and grey with warm woods.

Inspiration in White - Lonny Magazine

I used to love the magazine Domino and was so sad when they stopped publishing a few years back. I even wrote to the publisher to express my dismay (which is not something I would normally do) but I could not understand how they could possibly close production! When Lonny the on-line magazine was started by one of their editors (Michelle Adams) I was one of their first followers as it really has a similar feeling to Domino. I am always super inspired by their ideas and the interviews and of course the beautiful interiors. I have picked a few photos from various issues to share with you for the Inspiration in White this week!

Enjoy!

Blogger Sunshine Award

I have to thank Tracy over at Soul Style for passing me the Sunshine Award. This award is given from bloggers to other bloggers “who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.” I feel very privileged to be on the list of such an obviously talented and creative person as Tracy (and a fellow canuck to boot). Now it is my turn to pass to those blogs that inspire me...but before I do I am to answer a list of questions....oh, oh...here goes..

1. Favorite color – Well I think that is obvious no?? I am pretty much obsessed with white. Not only is my house white but my hair, my car, my dog, many of my clothes (if they are not white they are black or grey) and I would probably make all white food if I could but I like to eat too much to limit myself!

2. Favorite animal – Dogs for sure. I do love cats but I like pretty much all dogs that cross my path.

3. Favorite number – Oh this is too random for me. No favorites.

4. Favorite Drink –  I live with a Frenchmen so cappuccino is my drink but white wine would be a very close second (and some days first)!

5. Facebook or Twitter – Facebook for sure. I love seeing familiar names come up everyday.

6. Good book or good movie – Do I have to choose? I love to read but oh I love a good movie..

7. My passion - My family and friends of course...... decorating, pottery, creativity,

8. Giving or getting gifts – Giving but I Have to say I like getting too.

9. Favorite day –Well I am learning to live in the now so I have to say today.

10. Favorite flower – I love white hydrangeas...white lilies......white tulips...white roses....

Now for my list of wonderful blogs. I happen to love and follow everything from Industrial Modern to Vintage and Scandinavian Style blogs but I have a soft spot for French Country as you can see. So I have tried to include a little of each of the many that I love!!

Barn Lamps

I am loving the look of barn lamps just about anywhere in a home (yes I have mentioned this before in another post).  I am seeing these everywhere in photos and this week I found some at a dealer I work with here in Montreal! I picked up four of them to sell and they are beauties! Take a look at some shots I love with barn lamps.

The ones I bought are just like this.

Have a great weekend!

All in the Details

I love this house in Copenhagen and what I like about it is that it is full of surprises. It seems that in every corner there is an object or color that is used in new ways that are amusing and fun! Even if this house is not your style there are some great ideas for decorating that we can take from Josephine's approach to creating a personal and warm space!!

1. Painted Floors - Not only have the floors been painted white bit with the added detail of diamond checks in two colors!

2. Adding Textures and Color - There are so many great textures and prints going on in this photo from the fur to the knitted chair cover to the vintage texture on the lamps and tables.

3. Imagination - The addition of the sign post between the living room and dining room adds fun and wimsy to the space. I love that the sign post is a paddle!

4. Vintage Details - There are a lot of vintage items throughout the loft that add charm to the space.

5. Materials - Using different materials such as the wood and metal brings more warmth into the space.

6. Color - Pops of different colors throughout the space make this feel young and modern.

7. Don't forget your pet - Each area is thought through to make it fun and clever even Rover's bowl!

8. Lighting - There is a lot of lighting in the home that is different yet carries a theme throughout the space. I am loving the pail lamps against the wall!

9. Forgotten Spaces - Even the stairwell provides an opportunity to add creativity and imagination.

#10 - What would you add as the 10th feature you like about the space! Leave me a comment below and let me know!!

Enjoy!!
