Inspiration in White: Vintage Chairs

I always love to see vintage chairs in all different states of wear....some with a little rough around the edges fabric or wood that is worn with time. I also think it is the best of both worlds if you can find vintage chairs in decent condition and re-do, paint and re-cover, than buy them new.

Two of the chairs below are mine and they were in a very bad state when I found them but I absolutely love them now! The white settee and the grey chaise long are mine. When if found the white settee it had green velvet fabric and gold wood. There was also no cushion at all on the piece. I had the piece redone in white cotton and added a big feather cushion! The grey and natural linen chaise was pink velvet with dark brown wood. I had seen a picture that inspired me to re-do the chaise in the grey linen with the base in a natural rough linen. They really add to my decor and give a well loved and vintage touch my home. If you can't find a vintage piece to re-do there are so many good chairs now on the market made to give that well worn touch to your home.

Mansion with Character

This old mansion in Krakow Poland has been renovated to showcase the best of it's beautiful features. The open feeling with all of the wood beams makes each angle interesting and the rooms so unique. Even the crisscross of the railings on the second floor blend in with the movement of the beams...so clever. In the kitchen I love the use of the metal bars on the ceiling.. a really nice use of repetition on the crisscross in the house. The pale, natural fabrics and reflective tile and lighting really gives this home such character. Don't you love the bathroom in this house? Really well done...

Pretty bright white and light filled Swedish home that has so many great elements. Loving the view from the living room into the dining room and black and white sitting room. The modern kitchen and black and white tile in the bathroom are perfect!

White Home Decor: Modern Meets Rustic

This is one of those fabulous houses that has so many great elements I don't know where to start. How about the wall of white ironstone and glass! I love that so many pieces are oversized and command attention in the room. The mix of rustic with modern is well blended with the very rough coffee table in the living room and very clean lined closets in the dining room. Beautifully decorated....

I simply love this apartment of Tanja Vibe, the owner of a graphic design studio called All the Way to Paris. The simplicity of the loft all in white and the gorgeous pops of colour throughout really speaks to me.....and what about all of the lamps. These copper pendants are amazing and add such great reflection to the room! Perfect...

French Country Christmas

This beautiful 18th century farmhouse in France is the perfect backdrop to an all White Christmas. Lovely architectural details such as the paneled walls and beamed ceilings are well paired with the furnishings and accessories in the home. The sparkle of candlelight against the mirrors and the glass add warmth to this elegant setting. What a wonderful home to celebrate the season! Love it..

Norwegian Beauty

This little jewel of a home in Norway is not full of expensive furnishings or fancy decor but still manages to be creative and inspiring. I think adding reflection in a home is so important and they do this so well with all of the lovely glass chandeliers. The touches of grey throughout the home in the couches, the wording on the furniture and the throw on the bed add a wonderful contrast in every room and provide continuity as well.
