Interiors: Henry Bourne

I showed some of Henry Bourne's photographs earlier this week and I just can not get enough. I love the way he captures these amazing interiors..... So gorgeous this first photo with the black and white! What about these couches!!! I think there are a few different homes here but the styling, the angles and the light are all incredibly well done in all of the rooms. It is worth a visit to his website to see the wonderful work he is doing.

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Vintage Doors and Shutters

There are so many ways to use old doors and shutters in a home...and they always look good no matter what you do with them from....leaning them against a wall to using them as a headboard or actually installing them on a window or in a doorway. I have used a shutter as a headboard and as a screen and I have an old Victorian door in my shop that I changed to a mirror (bottom picture). They add character to a modern space and look fantastic surrounded by other vintage pieces. Are there other ways you have used old doors and shutters?

Enjoy!

Country Style Home in Australia

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Many elements to love in this cottage situated in the Tasmanian area of Australia. (Doesn't that sound so very outback!) The pretty painted floors go throughout the home and I am really stuck on those amazing entyway doors with the vintage bike in front! Great styling with the driftwood pieces over the table and the pewter platter is perfectly gorgeous. The kitchen is a surprise done up the a great shade of green in this little gingerbread style home. Very nice..

Enjoy!

Jo Malone Offices

Lonny Magazine has another great issue out this month and one of the features I love is showing the offices of Jo Malone. I have been wearing a variety of Jo Malone perfumes for many years and I really appreciate the packaging, the look and feel of the bottles and of course the scent of the perfume. My favourite is Pomegranate Noir and when I wear it someone always mentions how much they like it...

When I saw the offices for Jo Malone it was exactly what I would have expected from the brand. Situated in an 18th-century Georgian townhouse in London's West End it reminds me of one of the stores which looks like the Jo malone packaging.....pretty, feminine and elegant!

Neon and White

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Pure white is always a good idea but I also like to see a punch of colour and boy is this a punch of colour! Neon brights against pure white from floor to ceiling! This gives such a young and very fun effect to this space don't you think? I like that some of the surfaces are shiny (even the floor seems to have a bit of shine) and give such a nice texture. The mix of florals in the space is also so cool...

I think any neon against white could be so good in a kids bedroom or in a loft apartment.

Interiors: Restaurant Höst

Check out these pictures of the restaurant Höst by the architects Norm out of Denmark. I love how they used reclaimed wood and woolen blankets to create a warm and inviting environment. Who would want to leave this place? What the designers did was mix the feeling of eating outside on a Scandinavian farmyard with an urban, more minimalist decor. They also produced a line of tableware for the restaurant as well as design custom tables and seating.

The cuisine uses traditional ingredients of Nordic cooking made modern and new. Very much like the design of this wonderful space.

Wonderful White Home

This home is floor to ceiling white and I just cannot get enough of it! Most of the rooms in this home are painted white and even the stairway is all white with no contrasting wood at all. There are small touches of colour found here and there in the furniture and on the walls in the upstairs bedrooms. Love the white/grey washed wood wall, floor and cupboards in the kitchen. Even this seems like a big contrast against the entry and living room. Simple and beautiful!

Shabby London Home

This home in London is so pretty and filled to the brim with shabby decor! There are many interesting corners in this house and not one is empty but decorated to the max with accessories....mirrors, frames, books, candle holders and plants....whew! I love the two living rooms that are attached and the family room that is adjacent to the kitchen. Lots of cozy couches in this house to curl up on!

Enjoy!

Mixed Chairs

I saw these photos recently and I was very inspired by the mix and match of chairs around the table. I thought it was so great to have this mix of modern and vintage chairs around a wooden table as you see in the first photo. I have two styles of fabric chairs around my table but I really like when it is mixed not just in style but in color as well. For a more vintage style home it could be natural wood mixed with white painted wood and taupe or cream fabric chairs as well or a mix of metal like the second photo. Here are a few ideas for of how to get this look...

The modern Eames style chairs can be found in white at Interior Addict.

The Tolix chairs can be found at Renovation Hardware.

The french style chairs are also at Renovation Hardware. I just love the mix of fabrics and the bench is so beautiful.

Enjoy!

Indoor Outdoor Adorable!!

I once had a drawing class in a studio that looked like the first picture below! It was raining outside and we were happily working on our projects inside this most beautiful space. I have been dreaming of a studio like this for myself since then.  Any of these spaces would be wonderful for entertaining, eating, working or just dreaming for that matter!

And last but not least, here is one of the little paintings I made on that wonderful rainy day. No Picasso, but because of that wonderful space it is a day I will not forget!

Enjoy!
