A few photos of this gorgeous space that I call soft industrial. It has great industrial elements but it is softened with chandeliers, flowers and smooth lines. The dining room table is simply perfect because it is not too wide and the wood is full of texture. A really lovely space!

I always dreamed of having a log cabin somewhere in the mountains of Quebec but that was not to be. My love of cabin decor however has lived on and this space really has the best of this design. Gorgeous and rustic with all of the modern touches necessary to make it comfortable. A big kitchen with a wonderful adjacent family room. A gorgeous bathroom and a view outside that is sure to relax the mind and cure the soul!

I really cannot wait until spring.....is it warm where you live? Here in Montreal it is still cold and snowing (I am soooo tired of wearing boots) and all I seem to be looking at is florals in clothing and decor to get me out of the winter blues. There are many pretty florals in decor right now from fabrics to wallpaper and carpets and of coursejust putting out fresh flowers makes any room feel brighter. I love this style of decor and show it fairly often on the blog. So beautiful with the grain sack chair, the slip covered chairs in the dining room and the canopy over the bed. All gorgeous touches that make this home really special. It is so easy to add a few of these elements into a home and really change the look. Of course having a Mora clock in the entry and the gorgeous layered console table are also great ways to get the French Country look!

This incredible house in Iceland is so cool with the icy white against the grey. I think if I was ever to get rid of my white walls, this is the colour I would do....as you know I love grey and I find the white pops so well against this colour. There are so many ornate touches with the carved mirrors, the crest on the fireplace and the gold on the bed. The mix is so well done, barn, French, Scandinavian..but it all works. The kitchen is simply sublime with the small settee, large mirror and the two side tables..LOVE it!

This former country store was transformed into a very interesting home for this lovely Swedish family since 2008. They loved the fact that it was large, unusual and quirky and I have to agree! So quirky and certainly charming as well. I would say it is still a work in progress but is full of so much potential. They have a wonderful mix of industrial and vintage styles with a lot of Swedish style thrown in which we all know I love!

An all white room is not for the fearful, or the family with three dogs and four kids, but it can be incredibly powerful. When done in varying shades, an all white room can be so inspiring! Painted in a bright white, a room takes on a more modern look and in creamier whites, a warmer more cottage feel.
I would love a white floor in my house but I also love the contrast of a dark wood against an all white decor. What about you? Would you be brave enough to go all white in your home?
