Montauk Hideaway

This wonderful home in Montauk is that of Vicente Wolf the well known Interior Designer and photographer. Such a beautiful home and so fresh with all of the white. I really like the frames on the wall in the living room and great layering throughout. What about that copper tub!

A Beautiful Home in a Renovated Church

This fabulous home is really a renovated church built in 1880. So well done with an amazing dining room in the porch and a gorgeous bath in the closet....so fun. Industrial lamps in black in the kitchen and dining area follow into the living room which is all done in warm neutral fabrics. Yesterday's post was all about adding a pop of colour and here it is again in the dining room with this bright neon pink chair! Doesn't it look great!!

Inspiration in White: Pop of Colour

This is such a great way to change up an all white room. Adding a pop of colour with some kind of accessory...a pillow, a rug or even a flamingo (??) really changes up the look of a room. What is so great about adding colour to white is how you can change up the look so easily. Add a bright pink cushion and when you have had enough just change it out for another bright or keep the room looking cool and modern with an all neutral look.

Aren't these amazing rooms! Have a great week!

White in Sweden- Hus and Hem

Have you ever taken a look at the website from Sweden called Hus and Hem? Such beautiful houses on this site! Really the homes are just gorgeous. Of course you know how much I love Swedish style and there are wonderful ideas on this site for anyone who wants to decorate in white.

This house with a Smeg fridge and rough white wood wallpaper in the living room has great style with some typical Swedish touches......and white floor to ceiling always looks good to me!

Victorian Modern

This Victorian home in London is all done up in tones of grey, white and taupe. Amazing mouldings and ceiling detail are what make this house so special but it's the mix with modern furnishings that really up the style factor.

Love the modern details in the kitchen with the lacquered white cabinets and the gorgeous antique windows. So pretty with the table in the eating nook and the modern lamp hanging from the ceiling.

Hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day!

Good Book: Modern Rustic

I have done posts before about how much I love Rustic style so when I saw this book by Emily Henson at Anthropology I jumped at it. Emily is a stylist and author living in London and she has a really good feeling and understanding of this style. Rough wood, stone, muted colours and all natural materials are the essence of the rustic style and pairing them with a modern take on furnishings and accessories is really the perfect combination. Emily says, "Despite its use of recylced materials and objects, this is not a typical vintage look; it is more original than that. Modern Rustic incorporates the latest interior design know-hows and exciting, contemporary materials, and brings rusticity with all its honest, unpretentious appeal, beautifully up to date" I think this statement sums up her book perfectly!

London Calling

Pretty house in London with pale cream walls against dark rich floors making a wonderful statement. This house from Light Locations has got beautiful paneling throughout that really gives it great texture.

What is so good with this home is the variety of whites and greys. I love mixing whites in my home so there is a tone on tone feeling. This is the best thing to do when you have a mostly all white home and what makes it look so interesting. The outdoor and indoor lighting will also add shadows and change the way the light looks at different times of day.....my walls can go from white to pale yellow depending on the day light. So beautiful....

Inspiration in White: Industrial Lighting

I was looking for a new light for my bedroom and I came across a great store with the most incredible industrial lighting. Really large vintage lamps that you would find in an old barn or warehouse. As I was looking through Pinterest tonight I saw the same kind of lighting in many kitchens and dining rooms. I just love the look and the impact of these large lights, usually in pairs, in stainless, grey and of course black. They give a great edge to any kitchen or dining room and work with many styles but are really perfect in a modern look....and off the subject of lights...what about that black Smeg fridge! Oh my....

Modern Bungalow

This is one gorgeous bungalow from Rue Magazine! Love the shot of purple and green in the living room and the mix of wood and white. The clapboard walls against that amazing wood floor are simply beautiful....but the outdoor patio and pool are the best! Oh I can not wait to get outside and into our pool! So dreaming of warmer weather!

Have a great weekend!
