LOVE this shabby home....I mean what is there not to love here! That couch...superb....the kitchen... wonderfully modern vintage...the bedroom.. full of shabbyilicious accessories! I just wish there were more pictures. So cute the way the couch has a lovely lace cover, the chaise a delicate pink cover and the chair in a cotton hemp fabric. Gorgeous! Inspiration in White: Shabby Couches

As I was taking a stroll through one of my Pinterest boards today I realized I have a bit of an obsession with shabby white couches. Picture after picture of rooms with cozy, comfy and cushy sofas mostly with a slipcover but some without. My own home has a big shabby sofa from Montauk and a huge chair as well and I love them. Full of feathers and so easy to curl up on and take a nap or read a book. I love the look of sleek more tailored furniture but nothing is more comfortable or easy to take care of than a big slipcovered shabby couch! That is my shabby couch in the last picture...

Inspiration in White Goes Pink!

With Valentine's Day around the corner I thought Inspiration in White this week should go PINK! I do love pale pink and it is of course a Shabby Chic favourite but I can not say I have any in my home....none, not one thing... which is too bad because there are so many great ways to use pink and to add that little bit of femininity to any space. Feminine Chic

A beautiful old Scandinavian apartment with wonderful touches of femininity throughout the space. Flea market finds and modern furnishing add to this wonderful home but it the gorgeous architecture that steals the show! Check out the incredible ceiling in the living room and the cathedral shaped windows...wow.

Shabby Sophistication

This Danish home has been renovated to fine perfection but maintains many of its original features such as the stove in the dining room. The Swedish folding table has been painted white and adds just the right amount of shabby to the otherwise sophisticated dining room. Frames leaning on the floor keep this decor from being too serious....

Numbers and Letters

I love the look of letters and numbers in decorative items and accessories for the home (if they are vintage it is even better!). I see it on pillows or as wall art and for some reason it really adds a bit of fun or interest to a room. I have letters standing on a shelf in my office and I always think they look great. I have a few good examples for you of how you can use numbers and letters in your home..

Occaionally I see a picture on Tumblr or on Pinterest with no source and I often wonder what the rest of the house looks like. Sometimes I am lucky enough to come across the house when doing my research and this is one of those times. I had posted a picture on Facebook that I just loved. This is the shot below:

And I was lucky enough to discover the rest of the house to show you. What a beauty!!

This house is in the U.K. and is a great combination of Vintage with a dose of Scandinavian Style as well.

Small attic sleeping space...

Finally the same room as the top photo but from a different angle. What I also realized is that these are two chaise longue from Ikea that have been pushed together. What a great idea! I have one of these and am tempted to get another to create this look. It is the perfect spot for a cup of tea and a book!

Entryway Ideas

The foyer or entryway gives the first impression of your home so you want it to be fantastic! I had my entry redone two years ago and each time I come into the house I appreciate it so much. Adding a simple table, a painting or changing the tile can instantly make a difference.
