Gift Wrapping Ideas for Christmas

There are so many fun ways to wrap your gifts this holiday. I prefer the neutral tones and the natural textures when wrapping with fun gift tags or natural leaves and pine as the finishing touch. As you can see in my video in yesterdays post, not only do little gift boxes look great under the tree they can be used to decorate a table setting. Natrel and lookslikewhite Present: A Breathtaking Table Setting for the Holidays

This past summer I worked with Natrel, a Quebec based dairy company, on a wonderful project, How to Set a Summer Brunch Table. Well, I have once again had the chance to work with this great company on dressing a Breathtaking Holiday Table. Natrel has a wonderful commitment to providing pure, natural products and their website magazine is full of inspiring recipes and ideas for the holiday season.

It is always so much fun for me to think of ways to plan out my table settings for this time of year and I really love the rustic feeling of the Holiday Table we have for you in the video. There are so many great ways to Set a Holiday Table so this week I will dedicate a couple of posts to doing just that!

Swedish Christmas

In this 100 year old Swedish home rustic meets refined Scandinavian style. The kitchen is my favourite room for sure with the wall of subway tile and double hanging lamp. Sheepskin covered rattan chairs create a cozy space in the dining room. Simple Christmas trees and a bit of red and white add a pretty touch of the holiday season. Lovely home dressed for the holidays!

Knit One, Pearl Two

Knitting is such a big trend right now and knitted items are really all over in home accessories and fashion. Big chunky knits looks so great in a throw or stool cover and now you can find rugs as well. So I was working on a ceramic project last week and decided to add a bit of textured wool to the piece. I went and bought some wool and when I got home I decided to finger knit the wool into a long tube. I went on line to find out how to do it..... So easy! In a short time I had created a long chunky tube of wool that I could easily have turned into a scarf....and it was fun. Who new knitting could be so fun and so easy? Any knitters out there?

Perfect Party Home

This house looks like the perfect place to have a party don't you think? Amazing kitchen area that opens up to a big table and the back yard and a living room that does the same. So great with guests going in and out of the house moving around from one room to the other....The house is for rent through Light Locations and it would be wonderful for a photo or video shoot as well. Lots of light and well styled it presents so well.

Bright White Apartment

The Swedish real estate site Stadshem just keeps getting better and better at featuring theses amazing homes for sale. The styling of the various apartments, often very small such as the one I showed last month and this one here, is so good! They really know how to make it look so appealing and are super inspiration for anyone trying to add some accessories to change up the home. They always use really cool lamps and wonderful throws to dress up the space. I love the three different tables grouped together in front of the couch. Very clever.

Pins of the Week: Christmas

My first Christmas post of the year with a few ideas for decorating the mantle and the tree. No I have not put up my tree yet and actually I have not done much thinking about it beyond these few pictures. I realized I had better get at it when I passed through Target the other day to pick up a couple of things and saw that the Christmas lights that I liked were out of stock! Now I am on the move to get ideas and I love what I see here. Isn't that a lovely simple table for Christmas. Modern Greenwich Village Home

This is the Greenwich Village home of designing Ariel Ashe featured in Domino Magazine. Such a pretty modern home but with many of the original architectural elements that give it a bit of the old world feel. Nice pops of red here and there against a great black and white base. Love the gallery wall and the way she has done the curtains in the living room emphasising the high ceilings.
