White on White

Oh this is one of those super houses I come across that I just love. Anyone that can do white on white this well is a star for me. Line Kay, who is a stylist and photographer as well as the owner of this home, has such good taste. (you must check out her Instagram ....swoon!) A bit of natural wood and accessories in wood tones break up the white but keep the right mood at the same time. The white wood floors are such a favourite!

Are you brave enough to do white on white like this?

Cool in Sweden

Lots of good things going on in this apartment from pretty cabinet in the living room to the large knit throw on the bed. Cool and modern it is well laid out and you know what...it is for sale on Stadshem! I love the way the kitchen is done as well with the little breakfast nook at the end of the counter. Great lamps throughout the space as well and really like the shiny black tub...so good.

Sunny Pale Blues and Creams

This is the lovely home of designer Barbara Barry as seen in House Beautiful. Of course like all of Barbara's designs it is gracious, sophisticated with a touch of the unexpected. This dining room is the perfect example of this with the more formal lines of the room she has added an unusual chandelier that brings the whole space to life. I am in love with that dining room table! Just stunning! The rest of the house is bathed in neutrals and pale blues which look so chic together. A lovely home....

Under the Eves

Such a pretty little loft in France with slanted roofs that give this space such a lovely coziness. Love the bathroom with the glass and the open plan and black accents. Wood timbers add definition to the ceiling and bring warmth and texture. A tiny kitchen in black provides good contrast in this all white space.

Hope you are having a great start to the week!

Pins of the Week: Hanging Pots

I find so many pictures of wonderful rustic kitchens and hanging pots seem to be one of the features in so many of them. This seemed to be the style many years ago and once again trends come come back around. What you think about seeing hanging pots in a kitchen?

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Peachy Keen

I am seeing this pretty Peachy colour all over Pinterest and it is often mixed with other mid tones in green and pink. It feels like a colour that I loved when I was 16 years old and I think I even had a dress in that colour a looooong time ago but it suddenly looks new again...I kinda like it!

5 Ways to Add Style to Your Bathroom

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Bathrooms can look fabulous with a little extra styling. Even a beautiful renovated bathroom can use some extras to make it really special. Sometimes it takes a bold move to make it look really different and other times just adding that little touch is enough to give it that personal touch. Here are 5 ways to add style to your bathroom:

1.Add a cool carpet that you would not expect to see in a bathroom. The traditional bathroom carpet is fine but this makes it really fun.

 2. Big white towels. This one is always guaranteed winner. Big fluffy white towels always make a bathroom feel clean and fresh. Fold them on shelves, in baskets or roll them and put them on the edge of the tub.

3. Add shelves....but don't fill them up with tooth brushes and shaving cream! Use them to show artwork, beautiful perfume bottles or something else decorative.

 4. Add flowers or branches. I do this one all the time in my tiny powder room. I put the flowers in a small vase on top of a small shelf and it brightens up the whole space.

5. Add baskets under the sink or on shelves in the bathroom. I add rolled washcloths to my baskets for guests to use as individual hand towels. Looks great and guests love it!

Enjoy!

Adding Colour to White

I saw this apartment on Domaine Home and fell in love! That bedroom is so good! The Mora clock is such a great colour and the carpet in the room pulls the colour from the clock, so there is a wonderful flow. The accessories are kept to a minimum in this room but big impact is added with the ceiling and side table lamp both in shades of gold. I like how the blue from the clock is used again in the throw in the living room to keep the colour moving throughout the space.

This is such a good example of colour used in an all white space. I always say the beauty of going with white is that you can change it up quickly and easily with the use of great accessories and pops of colour here and there.
