Antique Mixes with Modern Farmhouse

This 19th century farmhouse is owned by the interior designer Darryl Carter. Not only did he design all of the interiors but many of the individual pieces of furniture and lamps as well. A wonderful clean space all dressed in neutrals with a mix of modern, antiques and rustic farmhouse pieces the flow of each room works beautifully!

Enjoy!

Interiors: White on White

Simple and chic white on white decorating in this home in England. All of my favorite elements including pops of colour with a mix of vintage, barn and Swedish style. Take a look at the child like art throughout the home that adds a really whimsical element and a touch of humour to each room. When I see a home like this I remember the importance of layering different white and cream colours into the space to ensure you have depth and don't forget about different textures as well.

Stone, Wood and White

This home of Atlanta based designer Bill Cook is not for the faint of heart. Filled to the brim with his collection of odd and beautiful objects, the home can feel inspiring and overwhelming at the same time! Beautiful details in the design of the home balance the feeling of luxury and comfort and certainly stir the imagination of guests that come to visit. The mix of stone and wood is certainly cozy and comes from the area surrounding this interesting home..

Light Filled Studio

A former barn this property has been converted into a studio for photography. I have often seen these images on tumblr and absolutely loved them. There seems to be such a relaxing feeling to this location and it would make a wonderful spot for a full time home!

Inspiration in White - Holiday Doors and Windows

I love these windows and doors (and a couple of blackboards ) with a beautiful touch of green in a wreath or a bunch of pine boughs. It is so easy and fun to add a touch of the holidays with a wreath hung indoors or outside. Add a bow, some pine cones and a few berries and voila! So many creative folks out there!

Swiss Chalet

This gorgeous chalet in the Swiss Alps is owned by a French family and is made to accommodate just that....a real family. In photo 1 we see the master bedroom made luxurious with furs on the bed and the carpet. The warm fireplace to the family game room dotted with bean bag chairs makes this space fun and informal even with its grand scale...and look at the location. Oh boy that would be a wonderful view each day for sure. Anyone for a hot rum!

French Country Home

This home in the Lot valley region of France has been updated, from the previous dark interior, to the all white of today. Bright and fresh with all of the original features it is a wonderful cozy space inside and out. The doors leading into the dining room are heaven and as are the quaint blue shudders on the exterior of the home!

Modern Barn

When I am doing research for this blog I look at a lot of houses of all different types from modern to vintage style and from barn to loft. Sometimes I come across a place that is done so well for the style and this is one of those houses. An old barn converted into a home with all of the modern conveniences but with all of the charm kept intact. From the interior to the gardens and pool area outside it is the perfect modern barn style home decorated with simple furnishes that allow the architecture and finishings within the home to shine.

Paris Factory Loft

I had seen one of these pictures on Pinterest and found the rest of the photos very recently. I love when that happens and I get to see the whole home. What I like about this is the big letters in the kitchen area and the loose, eclectic decor. I can imagine a young couple or students living in a space like this. Check out the barn lamps above the kitchen counter!

Barn Living

Check out this open barn style house in Cotswald England. I love that there is no clutter and very simple furnishings and decoration (so unlike my home which is full of furniture!) all in wood and white. Gorgeous high ceilings and windows let the natural light flow into the space and allow for great views of the surrounding countryside. What do you think? Would you like to live in a space like this?

Enjoy!
