Pins of the Week: Bohemian

So what does it take to have a fabulous Bohemian apartment....well plenty of colour and some prints for sure. A lot of random accessories put in slightly odd places and mixed with other odd vintagey (I am making up words now) furniture and a general disregard for a specific style of decorating....In other words a creative sense of what you like and are not afraid to go for it! I love these rooms!

Have a great long weekend all!!

Inspiration in White: Pink and Orange

The beautiful weather outside has got me feeling pretty much into hot colours these days. I especially love all of the oranges and pinks I am seeing. These work so well with a bohemian kind of style either with just spots of colour or even with walls of colour. Mixed with a bit of yellow or turquoise or a splash of green and you have got a fantastic look.

Something that is really catching my eye these days are the colourful Boucherouite rugs like the one in the last photo....I have the perfect spot in one of my clients home for this. It looks so good against all the white in the room don't you think?

So reviewing those for a Friday night feature will be great fun for me and you! This week I seem to have been on a black, white and camel pinning extravaganza...well to be honest I tend to pin these colours fairly often....but I found some really gorgeous homes and fashion ideas this week. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!!

Inspiration in White: Runway to Room

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Love the gorgeous greens and blues we are seeing on the runways and at the award shows this season..(did you catch the Oscars yesterday?)...and what about a bit of green and blue in your home mixed heavily with white of course. The fabrics on the couches and in these amazing Gucci clothes are so rich and warm with velvets and mohair, leather and denim. A bit of bohemian inspiration from the runway to your room tonight!

Kinfolk Magazine

I am sure most of you have discovered the magazine and website Kinfolk but if you haven't I suggest you check it out. Kinfolk describes itself as a blueprint for a balanced, intentional lifestyle...full of gorgeous photographs and wonderful ideas and articles it feels like a very cool hipster/artist entertaining guide to me. The magazine is printed on wonderful matte paper and has a book like quality to it. I usually buy it at Anthropologie but you can subscribe to it on the website....which in itself is sooo well done. Gorgeous short videos with so much feeling and creativity...I am gushing now..but so thoughtful really. Kinfolk also curates an international series of events hosting between 12–30 dinners and workshops every month with a shared theme (Flower Potlucks, Campfire Cooking and Butcher Block Parties). Some of these can be seen on video on the website as well. My intention is to go to one in the next year! Take a look at some of the gorgeous photos and videos here...

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Yellow Accents

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

The beauty of having an all white home is that you can choose any colour you want as an accent. I have shown you ideas for adding green and blue but yellow adds a real touch of the bohemian to a room. It feels younger and more edgy than most other colours and it takes a bold person to mix more than a couple of pieces of this colour into a room.....but the beauty is you don't need much to get great impact. I just finished a clients bedroom that is white and grey with yellow, gold cushions and it looks amazing!

Enjoy!
