Thinking About Spring

So we are still in the dead of winter here in Montreal and yet I can not stop thinking about spring. Oh my how I long for warmer weather and brighter days!

I have been looking at lovely homes to keep up my spirits and fell on this sweet place. I love this light and bright little home with the blue touches throughout. It features all of the elements I love including several collections and a mix of white with various tones of wood. The kitchen is always my favourite spot, here with open shelves and a beautiful deep farmhouse sink.

Sunday Blues

Starting a new week tomorrow and it is a big one....I drive my daughter to New York where she will start her Junior year at College. Moving from Montreal to New York is a big deal for her and for me...I am sad and sooo happy at the same time for her...and super proud.

So it seems only fitting on this Sunday to show you a few blues...beautiful blues any of which I would have in my own home.

Happy start to a new and exciting week for you all!

Beach House Beauty

Such a cute beach house from Domino Magazine! Designed by Anna Burke, it has just the right amount of vintage, rustic charm mixed with a cool Palm Beach vibe. Of course the all white palette with accents of blue and white is one of my all time favourites, so this strikes a perfect note in my books. Love the high ceilings in the home and especially in the kitchen area....with these amazing lamps over open shelves it does not get any better!

Domino does it again for me! Always one of my go to magazines for inspiration!

Even though it has been raining for the past few days here in Montreal I am really starting to feel like it is summer. The pool is open, the evenings are warm and we are eating most meals outside.......aaahhhh it is so good to finally have summer here!

Bright By the Sea

I came across this gorgeous home on Dustjacket Attic today and fell in love! So bright and beautiful with white and touches of seaside blue, so irresistible and so fresh!! This house has been designed by Veranda House Interiors and they did an amazing job.

I really like the blue and white striped slip covers on the chairs (you could get this look with the Ikea stools that are very similar). The side board you can see in the kitchen picture is so well styled. Two big clear lamps with the two frames look so perfect and repeat the feeling you see in the kitchen area..... well really the interior of the house is a perfect reflection of the incredible view outdoors to the sea.

Blue and White Obsession

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

I have a few pieces of blue and white porcelain in my home and I really love it. I think it goes with every decor and fits into a neutral colour scheme perfectly. This is the home and personal collection of Furlow Gatewood, who is a been an influential member of the design community for many years. These photos that House Beautiful featured are from the book One Man's Folly (by Julia Reed and published by Rizzoli) and feature much of his amazing collection of blue and white porcelain. Now this is a collection! I love the blue and white stool in the first photo and the stunning ginger jars in all shapes and sizes. Plates, candleholder and vases fill out the rest of the collection, all set in the most beautiful home.
